I've added a few links to my blog

I've decided to add some useful links for people who would like to help Haiti or other countries by volunteering or finding jobs within Organizations that help all over the world.  Some of these links are for worlwide searches of organizations.

I've also started adding links for shelters in Haiti, since many people don't know where to look or find the best deals. Ahomeinhaiti is a current short term solution and they've made arrangements with Coleman for discounts and Wyclef Jean to distribute them.

I've also added some Canadian Ressources below for Canadian Haitians who might need help to help Haiti.

I'm hoping that others will send me links that they have found in order to have them all in one place.  I'm on Twitter so you can DM them to me @forjo1 is my name.

The day the earth shook

The day the earth shook

I feared with you, I cried with you,

I saw your pain; I felt your pain,

And I grieved with you.

I waited with you, for help to arrive

I tried to console you, as best I could

But in vain, I couldn’t take away your pain

I rejoiced at the successes

And I was saddened by the failures.

I cried when it rained,

And laughed when you gained

And all the while

I couldn’t help but feel your pain.

I felt your strength, though shattered lives

But I kept the faith that help would arrive

To restore your lives, and bring you some light

Haiti the pearl will be…alive again.

Know that those of us who shared it with you,

Will always remember the day the earth shook.

January 12th 2010 will always be there,

Engraved in our minds as the day all were shaken.

Update on Haiti

It seems that the 2 missionaries held in Haiti will be released on Thursday. You really don't want to know my opinion on that story, cause i'm too much of a lady to say what I really think about these people. Now hundreds of children are being refused medical care outside of Haiti thanks to them; some have died already because of the governments refusal to let children out now. I guess they will be judged by higher up some day.

As for what's going on now in Haiti I found this webpage today on Twitter. It seems more jobs in Haiti are being created as well; so that's a good thing.

Tweeting for Haiti

I've been tweeting for #Haiti since the earthquake. Little did I know how it would change my life. I've met (figuratively) so many wonderful people on twitter. People really care about what happens to Haiti. I've also discovered how cruel life can be. Innocence is bliss.

At first there were so many cries for help from trapped people that I cried day in and day out feeling so helpless in being able to help them. Then I started realizing that all these wonderful people on Twitter were actually helping by reaching the necessary people on the ground there. Then there were the tweets to 4636 that were actually getting things done.

Now it's basically cries for tents to protect themselves from the rain that mother nature has decided to send early this year.

Here are a few links if you'd like to help save some lives in Haiti by supplying tents or shelters for them.

God bless them; they've been through so much. And something that surprised me was how polite they remain in asking for help, even when they know that help is there but not getting to them. I'm not sure I'd remain so polite in a situation like that.

They are such strong people. I know that something better awaits them...question is right now, how long will it take?
